"It's too cold to swim!"

The kids had a pool party after school one day a couple of weeks ago.  The water was cold, but the kids did not care.  They swam and had a blast!  Then, we went to the lake for a picnic one hot Saturday after baseball for a picnic.  I thought the kids could play on the beach with the sand buckets and get their FEET wet at the edge of the water.  They wanted to put their swimsuits on before we left, and I said "No way...The water  is way too cold to swim."  When we got there, the place was packed and everyone was swimming.  So the kids wanted to get in the water to swim.  Yes, they swam in their clothes!!!!!  I don't know how they stood it.  I put my feet in and it was COLD!  Again, the kids didn't care...they had a blast!  It is going to be a FUN SUMMER!

J's birthday was all about Thomas the tank engine!  Thomas cupcakes, books, movie, talking Thomas, Lego Thomas, Cranky the crane, train table, Thomas clothes and jammies, Thomas sheets, pillow, and blankie!
He loved every minute of turning three!

"Play Ball!"

I think it was a foul ball.

Catcher

At bat....

B-Ri has been having a blast playing baseball this spring.  His team is made up mostly of his friends from school...all 3rd graders.  So far, they are undefeated and beating the other teams by a lot!  Not that that matters!!! ;o)  The boys are having a great time and learning the fundamentals of America's favorite sport!  B has played various positions...including shortstop, third base, left field, and catcher.  He even got to pitch last game.  That made me a little nervous, but he did ok.  I think he has played catcher the most, and he really likes it!  Last week, the umpire came over to the fence to find the "catcher's mom" to tell me that he was really good!  Very proud of him!  He has also just developed a love of the sport in general.  He and his buddies have been trading baseball cards at school, watching on tv (and in person), and he checks the sports section of the paper every morning for the latest scores and stats!  Looks like we are going to play summer league too...so I guess I'll keep buying the sunflower seeds and Gatorade!

A long time coming.......

We were very excited to have our family's pictures professionly taken for the first time in 6 years...that was 2 kids ago!  A parent and friend from our kids' school took them at a local park.  We had a lot of fun!  Here are a few of the photos!  Thanks to Jenni at Paschall Studios!

Pre-K Mother's Day Tea

My little pre-k darling in her cute hat
Peforming!
I love this little girl!

Earlier this week, the pre-k class hosted the mommies for a tea.  They sang songs for us in three different languages...Spanish, Vietnamese, and English, of course!  Then they served us cookies and raspberry tea.  This is such a good group of kids, and there are some great moms too!  Good thing I like them because we are going to be stuck together for many years!
E was so sweet!  She kept telling me that she loved me and that I was the best mom in the whole world!  I'm glad she thinks so...at least, sometimes!  =)

A SPECIAL "KNIGHT"

We just had our first annual "My Special Knight," a daddy daughter dance.  The girls were so excited about the night for weeks...really for months.  They had been hearing all about it for a long time because I was on the committee for the event.  I was involved in planning, decorating, setting up, and tearing down afterward.  But that also gave me the privilege to be there that night working and taking pictures!  My big girl danced almost every dance with Chad...E was more interested in playing with her little girlie friends!  It was fun to see EVERYONE dance the ChaCha Slide and the Macarena!
Before the dance...

So proud to dance with her daddy!
One of the brief moments E was not running around with her buddies!
The Cha Cha Slide

It was SO SWEET to see my little darlings dancing with their daddy.  GREAT MEMORIES were made that night!
